Breathing
the art & Science of
BREATHE EASY, THINK CLEARLY, FEEL MORE DEEPLY.
For OUR bodIES.
The first roll of breathing is getting oxygen into our bodies and brains, the fuel for our cells and our lives. For this, the way we breathe matters. Most people’s breathing patterns poorly oxygenate their tissues, leaving them fatigued when so much more energy is available. Proper breathing optimizes the amount of oxygen delivered through the body, increasing energy production, and total body health.
For OUR mindS.
The second roll of breathing is to regulate the nervous system, which in turn regulates the way we think, feel and the way our bodies function. Improper breathing leads to more stress, distress, tension and an inability to slow down. By learning to breathe, we learn to self regulate, to turn up, to calm down, to become present and better manage our energy. It all starts from the breath.
For our relationships.
Only when we are really quiet are we able to listen and connect. This is one of the great secrets of all interpersonal relationships. When our minds are full, all we experience is ourselves and our worries. Only by clearing our minds and getting present do we have space to really connect with ourselves, our bodies, our feelings, our friends, lovers and the world around us.
