Breathe. Feel Better. Live more.
Breathing is an art that has been mostly forgotten — through history and cultures, distant groups of people have discovered the ability to feel, heal, self regulate and elevate their consciousness through the power of breath. The way we breathe immediately alters the way we feel, think and function, each breath we take matters and learning how to breathe well, how to practice breathing and the science of breathing, fundamentally changes us from the inside out.
The Art of Breathing is my signature breath training program designed to teach you how all this works. It balances practice and theory to help you experience first hand what breathing can do for you and give you the scientific / philosophical framework to understand it.
This training is for everyone and anyone. We all breathe and we could also benefit deeply from learning to breathe better.
What does the Art of Breathing explore?
Restore
March 22nd - Restore
we can breathe ourselves well or we can breathe ourselves sick — it all depends on how we breathe.
restorative breathing, is the first step in health and healing.
it improves blood flow, organ function and energy production by shifting us out of fight or flight, into rest, digest and deep healing.
Pause
March 29th - Pause
between stimulus and reaction there is a moment — if we can expand that moment, we are free.
breath suspension gives us a means to pause, to become present, to meditate deeply, see more clearly and break the karmic cycles.
pausing allows us to act with intention and live with greater presence.
awaken
April 5th - Awaken
we are more powerful than we think, the breath is our door way to realizing it.
awaken explores deep breathing practices that can empower and expand us.
practices to clear the mind, detoxify the body, overcome trauma and teach us how to handle stress gracefully.
yoke
April 12th - Yoke
under the western, medical model of breathing, there is Pranayama, the ancient yogic science of energy.
Pranayama offers an approach to breathing that goes beyond the physical, exploring the intersection between health, energy and consciousness.
yoke provides the yogic framework and practices for breath control and energy expansion, so integral to living fully.
open
March 15th - Open
the first step in learning to breathe is reconnecting with our breath and the physical, organs, muscles and tissues which support it.
opening our breath unlocks the power within it — when our breath is stuck our life force is diminished.
you’ll learn how your breath has become compromised, how to reopen it and what it means to take a truly deep breath.

Short answer: no this is not a yoga training, it will not explore Yoga Postures except those which help to unlock the breath.
Long answer: my education in breathing has been a western / eastern balance, this training is grounded in both the western medical science of respiration, and in the ancient, esoteric practices of Pranayama for balancing and harmonizing the energy body. Traditionally, yoga was far less about postures than it was about sitting, breathing and meditating. In this respect, yes it is a yoga training.
